Wish List

So let's talk about things I want. So I have decided that I will pick 2 things and buy them for myself if I meet my fitness goals for the month of March!

So let's start with #1. It is the original 88 color pallet form Costal Scents. It is $18.95 and has great reviews. I have been thinking that I wanted to get more into makeup, and what better way to start than having 88 colors to choose from?

#2 is something I have wanted for a long long time. $41.99, not bad for a pair of shoes that I plan on wearing for the rest of my life! They are giraffe print Sanucks and If I get them, then I will buy from Amazon.com. I want them because they would be perfect for walking around campus and the crazy print would go with practically everything.

#3 is a Mickey Mouse waffle iron. Now I am not one to brag, but I have darn near the best waffle recipe on the face of the planet, and Mickey shaped waffles would be so much cooler. It is $35.50 and I think that is an ok price to pay for epic waffles.

#4 I think that no matter what happens I will end up buying these, possibly even in a few days. They are cheep in price but surprisingly good quality.

Now obviously there is no way I can get #5, but let's face it, the segway is the coolest thing on the list! $7199.00 Is far to much to pay for just exercising for a month. But can you just imagine me zipping across campus on my new sweet ride?

#6 Bellezza Bza4in1 Curling Iron Set. This is a curling iron with INTERCHANGEABLE barrels! Why is this not already a curling iron staple? The set of 4 barrels and one handle all for only $63.99! That is pretty much 4 curling irons all in different colors for only 60 bucks!

The last one is #7. Now I know this may look like a joke, but I have always wanted a small yellow chair to sit in. Yup, thats it, to just sit in :) it is only $10.00 and I think it is totally worth it!

So, I guess we will see what happens at the end of the month of march!

Spring Time Lace Overlay Skirt How To

What we are making:

Video:

Same type of skirt but instead of lace I used Teal chiffon:

Gold embossing on the bottom:

Silver Satin Cream Lace

Cream Satin and Black Lace. This was the first skirt like this that I have ever made. It turned out pretty good but I have defiantly improved.

 Materials Used In Video:
1Yard of blue lace
1 Yard of Cream Satin
1 seven inch zipper
Simplicity pattern 3881

Yoke: 7 inches wide 42 inches long. I wanted a 2 1/2 inch waist band so I cut out a 7 inch wide band because It needs 2.5 inches front and back with a 1/2 inch seem allowance on both sides of the yoke.

Hem: I cut my fabric so the bottom was on the selvage edge so I did not hem my bottom like normal, but I did add about a yard and a half of lace to it just to hide the selvage edge and to add a few extra inches of lace.

If there are any questions just ask in the comments below and I will be more than happy to reply!

All materials were bought and paid for by me and I found everything used here at Jo Anns.

Tonight We Party! Or Maybe Not...

Party Follow Up

So a few days ago I posted about going to a party right? Well here is the follow up on said party. So me and my best friend, Dragon, get all dolled up to go to this dance thing and we drive there in my truck. We get there and something is off, but I just cant put my finger on it. Dragon knew something was up too but we just didn't see it at first. Well we are just kind of scoping the area and then all of a sudden get escorted to a seat by this girl in this HUGE red prom dress. So we are sitting there listening to the guy at the front tell funny stories. Then all of a sudden, it hits me. EVERYONE IS PAIRED OFF... IT IS TOTALLY A DATE THING! So me and Dragon start formulating this plan to escape without being seen! Luckily everyone started getting up to get dessert and we made our move and totally snuck out through the emergency exit. And the alarm never even went off! How we did it? I don't quite know, but then we went to get shakes at Jakes Over The Top. What an unexpected , yet eventful night.

Let's Talk Turkey Wraps

Lets Talk Lunch!

Turkey wraps are my new favorite lunch these days!
This one has ranch and honey mustard for the sauce, then layered turkey, diced tomatoes and fresh Romain lettuce.

Then just roll it up like a burrito, but I have to put toothpicks in the wrap to make it stay together!
I have eaten this for a couple days and not only is it an inexpensive meal but it is really good tasting.

Oatmeal Apple Brown Sugar Breakfast

Oatmeal Apple Brown Sugar Breakfast

This is one of my favorite non-pancake breakfast and it only takes about 5 min. to make.

All it is, is plain oatmeal, cook it, then just put apples and brown sugar on it, and sometimes I top it off with cinnamon.

I like it because it is warm but still crisp because of the apples. And it fill you up quick! So you don't get hungry an hour after breakfast.

Besides, nobody really reads my blog so I can post what ever the heck I want :) Also I think I want to buy a dog..... Because I get sick of trying to find my slippers by myself...

FIT IN YOUR JEANS BY FRIDAY?

Fitness the Kardashian Way

So I have been doing this DVD for the past three days and I am sure feeling it in my legs. The work out sets are really good and I think I have noticed a change already even if it just a small change. Now I am not a Kim Kardahian Fan AT ALL, she bothers me to no end but this DVD packs a punch and it isn't too long of a work out. Unfortunately Kim looks like she hasn't worked out or even broken a sweat, But the trainer who basically runs the video is AMAZING!!!! She does such a great job and makes you want to keep going even when it gets difficult, and yes, it does get tough. So basically this is a great workout DVD that if you work hard you will see results in as little as 3 days but you just have to tune out Kim's super annoying voice.

Dear Kim,
IF YOU STILL LOOK PRETTY AFTER YOUR WORK OUT, YOU DID NOT WORK HARD ENOUGH. AND YOU MY FRIEND DID NOT WORK OUT.

Le French Macaroons
Le First Try!

This is the finished product! Looks good eh?

First process the Almond flour and powdered sugar. USE A FOOD PROCESSOR! It works very very well! I ran it for one min. then scraped the sides and bottom and ran it for another min.

Sift the dry mix into a bowl, you will have a few bits of almond left afterward in the sifter DON'T MIX THE ALMOND CHUNKS IN! You want the mix to be as fine as possible. Set the dry ingredients aside.

Next mix the egg whites and when it gets bubbly add the salt then the sugar slowly. Mix until the froth can form peaks

Fold in the dry ingredients into the egg mix. I did half the dry first then added the vanilla then added the last half. If you are going to make your cookies colorful this is the time to add the food die.

Pipe out the mix onto a pan with parchment paper. Try to keep the dough the same size circles. I used a plastic baggie that I cut the end off of to pipe out the mix instead of a real deal piping bag. I cooked them at 300* for 10 min. Then rotated the pan, then cooked them for 10 more min. Also I cooked some on a cookie sheet and some on a stone pan and the mettle one worked much better.

Then I mixed the Icing up and whipped it good :) I used another plastic baggie to pipe it out in. I put the  open bag in a cup and folded the edges over the side of the cup and just spooned in the frosting, then cut the tip.

I just piped a swirl of frosting onto one cookie and sandwiched it to make finish the macaroons off!

Le Fin!
How fancy is that! You can't really tell, but this glass has a mustachio etched into the side. Now that's class!
These little cookies are like nothing I have ever tasted! They were defiantly worth making! The whole family enjoyed them :)

Here is the Recipe

*
Macaroons:
  • 1-3/4 cup confectioner
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups  almond flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
This recipe is from the Martha Stewart Cookbook.

Filling:
1/3 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp milk
1 1/2 – 2 cups confectioners’ sugar

I kind of just made up the filling recipe but it ended up being great!
Left Over Costa Vida?

I love Costa Vida, and I usually only eat half a burrito and the Pico, which means leftovers for lunch the next day!

I cut the Burrito into pieces and put it  in the oven at 350 for about 10 min.

Then I cut up lots of romaine lettuce, tomatoes and green onions.

When the burrito is warmed up I mix the salad with the burrito and put ranch on the top. This means 2 full meals out of just one Costa Vida burrito! And it is sure tasty!

I can't believe I got it!
So about 10 min. ago I was sitting on my couch watching T.V. and I spotted a bug climbing up my wall. I though I would grab my hat and just throw it at the bud and kill it. Then I realized there is no way I would ever hit it but before I had time to think of something else my hat was off my head and I hit the bug. AND KILLED IT!!!!! Then I bowed my head and raised the number 1 in pure excellence

And then I hurried and drew this comic depicting the happenings.

So today I went over to my cousins house to watch their kids, and what better way to keep kids busy then  baking cupcakes! We made basic chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. It took about three times as long as it should have because kids ALWAYS have to help :) But once we made the batter and got them in the oven we made lunch - Mac and Cheese-  we had to wait for them to cool so we watched a little Disney Channel. The kids chose purple and green frosting so after a quick lesson on colors we mixed up a batch and I started frosting the cupcakes while Sis and Trev did the sprinkels. These kids went nuts with the sprinkles and there where probably more sprinkles on the cupcakes than there was actual cake! Well, needless to say, they were super delicious and the kids flipped for them! When mom and dad came home they were so surprised and the kids made them try a cupcake right away! What a good day! The cream cheese frosting recipe is posted below!

Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 oz. Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1/4-1/2 C. Butter - depending on how much butter you like
2tsp. Vanilla
2-6 C. Of Confectioner Sugar (Powdered Sugar) - Depending on how much frosting you need and how Cream Cheesy you like it I usually go with 3 C.

How to:
Mix room temp. Cream Cheese and room temp. butter together until smooth. Add vanilla then slowly mix in the powdered sugar. SLOWLY! Cream together until the frosting is completely blended together. Use it for cupcakes or homemade Oreos or even cinnamon roll glaze!

No Effort College Cool

No Effort College Cool

So today it was ridiculously windy outside and as I was walking to class, and because I am 6 feet tall the wind didn't push me around. Unfortunately though, there were a few really small asian foreign exchange students who probably would be just picked up and flown across campus.

This is alot like what I wore today and talk about cozy! I was so comfortable all day :)
