Materials:
3 skeins of embroidery floss
1 Hair Tie
Hot Glue

Headband Week: DIY Mermaid Headband

As you may have already guessed, This headband is make out of teal curtain chording I like to call it the "Mermaid Headband" Because it has a basic sailor knot right in the front, and mermaid and sailors just go together. The color is great as well, and it unfortunately never looks as good in pictures as it does in real life, so this is as good as it gets.

Materials:
1 1/2 yards of curtain chording
1 elastic
Hot Glue Gun
Gross Grain Ribbon

Part 4 of Headband Week Is officially checked off! Check back tomorrow for part 5!

Chanel Inspired Galaxy Nails

This nail design is inspired by Chanel's Celestial Beings Collection. Isn't it beautiful?

This is my latest nail experiment one that I had no idea if it would work or not, and I sill can't decided if I really like it or not yet. I only did the one nail because I can't stand all my nails being painted.

Below I Have posted a picture of all the nail polishes I used and a small tutuorail. Sorry, not a lot of pictures because I didn't think it would work!

I literally used all these nail polishes. The base is the black on the far left then I sponged the green, blue, orange, and pink onto the black in a random sequence. Next I used the tall skinny silver to paint one side of the nails and then sponged it around to create a 3rd dimension look to it. Following that I used a toothpick to dot small white dots on the opposite side of the nail. Then used the 2 sparkly polishes to the right of the white to put small sparkles all over the nails. Then used the the clear sparkles on the far right to top coat everything! That's how it all happened!

So that is my experimental galaxy nails with a kind of how too. I would have taken more pictures but I didn't think It would work out as well as it did. But I think it turned out well and I am in love with the colors and the Space-y-ness of the whole look.

Weekend Shopping Haul

So first off, Yes, these pictures are taken in a hallway in front of 3 doors (one going to my basement gym, one going to the bathroom, and one going to the storage room), and if you were wondering, they are hanging from the lights.... HA!

The first thing I got was this Jacket from TJ Max. It was $19.99, and a total STEAL! It goes with everything, like literally
E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! The left sleeve is all the way un rolled and the right sleeve is rolled to just above the elbow. How cute is this?!

Next is this shirr turquoise top from Vanity. I found it on the clearance rack and it was 30% off and my friend who works at vanity  gave me an additional discount so it came to $12!! Can you believe that?! It even came with the cute little leather belt.

This tank is one of my favorites! I love the print down the front and I totally dig the rope on the top. It fits really well and the band on the bottom really is really slimming in contrast to the more baggy mid section of the shirt. I really love the color because coral is totally in this season and it makes my skin look great!

I found this scoop neck coral top with the awesome anchor on the front at Old Navy for $6! I don't usually buy scoop neck tops but I decided to try this on because it was so cheep and when I put it on everything about it looked great! Again the coral color is great and I don't usually wear clothing with pictures printed on the front but i really like anchors and how cute is that print anyways?!

Then I went into Clair's and found a pack of 3 earrings for only $1! I am really in love with dainty earrings and these are really cute.

These also came in the pack of 3 and they are my favorite ones mostly because I love bows. I also love the rustic antiqued look of these specific ones.

These are the last pair in the pack of 3. They are just small studs, cute simple and great for when I don't really want to wear any big earrings.

This necklace is defiantly a winner! I am in love with the daintiness of everything. The chain and the glasses are so small and perfect for when I just want to wear a little necklace.

This is the necklace that came with the one shown above, it is just okay, still cute but not as cute as the glasses.

Lastly this purse which I found at TJ Max for $25 and I LOVE IT!!! It has real leather straps, detailing, and bottom. The main bag is made out of some kind of canvas material and I really like the print. It is a cross body bag and I think it is great because it goes with everything.

OOTD: Spring time in the 20's

I paired some coral colored capri's with a flowy cream colored top which was kind of thin so I wore a tank top underneath. The headband is something I made myself and I just curled my hair with my new curling iron and brushed it out a bit. For arm candy I layered a few gold bangles with a leather cuff and wore a long dangly necklace just to glam things up a bit.

Pants: Coral Capri's, JC Penny $17
Top: American Eagle $10
Tank Top: Wet Seal 5 For $20
Necklace: Forever 21
Headband: My Own Creation!

Random gold bangles that I have collected form various stores over the years

Leather Bow Cuff: My own work :)

Rings:
Middle Finger: Clairs $1 !
Ring Finger: Unicorn ring that the Unicorn broke off of
Forever 21
Pinky: Shark Tooth necklace that I found in the lost and found one time

I decided to take a few head-shots while I had my hair all done up, so I took the Headband off and set up my studio! When I finished up I decided to play with some photo editing and this is what I cm up with!

Personally I like the black and white one the best, mostly because it is kind of quirky and it makes me look like I have really high cheek bones :)

Tutorials that are coming soon!
The lace bow headband shown above
The leather bow cuff also shown above
Possibly a hair tutorial but I haven't decided yet

Package from Japan!!

So guess what came in the mail today?!
A box clear from Japan! :)
I was really good friends with an exchange student in High School, and she sent me an entire box full of Japanese goodies!

When I first opened it up, and got past the layer of bubble wrap, this is what I saw!!

12 Pieces of Japanese chocolates! Black, Milk, and Meiji! I think the black is dark, the milk is milk and I have no idea what the meiji is!

A Jumbo Pack of strawberry Pocky! This is something that I have already tried, and you can get them in the U.S as well :) The special thing about these is that they are heart shaped!

These are chocolate creme filled cookies, something that I have had before as well. They are so good and how cute are those koalas1?!?

Now I have no Idea what the heck these are. Prawn fries maybe? I Haven't tried them yet, mostly because I am a chicken! Hopefully they are good!

I have had these little candies before as well, and they are so good and surprisingly juicy! There are 4 flavors and red is by far ,my favorite!

I was so surprised to come home and find that a box, all the way from Japan had found it's way to my house! I can't wait to send a box to my Friend, it will most likely be full of skittles because she loves them!

I will be sure to post about what I send to Japan in the very near future!

Man Catching Homemade Oreo's

Ok! So this is possibly the easiest cookie recipe of all!
All you need is a box Cake mix, eggs and butter!

The cookies:
1 Box Cake Mix
2 Eggs
3/4 Cup Melted Butter

Mix together:

Spoon out 1 TBS scoops onto pans
Cook for 12 min. at 350

Fill with  Cream cheese frosting, either homemade or from a box, both taste great!

Homemade Cream Cheese Frosting:
8 ounces Cream Cheese
1/2 Cup Softened butter
2-4 cups of powdered sugar - depending on how you like it

El Fin!!!

I rolled the outside frosting in red white and blue sprinkles because I made them for a school presentation on patriotism and they were a big hit!!

I doubled the recipe for the cookies shown above, I had to be sure there was enough for the whole class!!

And yes, I did bring class treats to a college presentation :)
...and everyone loved them
